My poor French student - she was only here for a week and the weather's been crap for most of it! We got soaked in London, frozen at Windsor Castle (bright sunshine but biting wind) but all in all she has enjoyed herself. Pity the sharks weren't at the Aquarium; that was a bit disappointing. I'm getting to know the Battle Abbey commentary off by heart, I've taken so many students there now!
I guess the only advantage is that everywhere is not too crowded in this weather.
When we used to have students, their entertainment programme wasn't our responsibility. They were picked up by coach every morning and dropped back late each afternoon. I'd have hated to have to spend all day with them too!
ReplyDeleteMind you, we did have up to 4 at a time. They were mostly bearable, some were lovely, but a few were downright obnoxious and did horrible things.
*shudder*
Not sure I'd be good at being a host all day too - love being able to not talk in that strange simplified English all the time. And as for being nice all day!
