I've just been to Nat West in the village and they tell me that the branch is closing at the end of May.>
I remember when we had a Barclays and a Lloyds up here too. I thought that at least Nat West was keeping its promise not to close any more branches, if we were to believe the telly ads. Some hope!>
I hate this dehumanising of everything. I know they want us to do everything on line and do away with human contact altogether and it makes me mad!>
No wonder we have so many social problems. If people feel so disconnected from each other they can't develop empathy and understanding and cases like Jamie Bulger, people torturing animals for fun and having no qualms about destroying other people's property are only going to increase.>
Rant over.>
Bugger
ReplyDeleteThat was a really convenient little branch and close to a Post Office too.
I'll have to use the one at the bottom of Springfield Road but that will mean having to travel a further 2 miles to get to the nearest Post Office, as I tend to do them both in tandem.
Bugger, bugger, bugger.
I wonder what it'll turn into.
ReplyDeleteLet me see... another fast food place? We've actually got most of what we need up here - supermarket, post office, greengrocer, chemist. What do we need? ...oh yes, a bank...
I've never thought of Ore as a village, but so many of you Ore bloggers refer to it as such that I suppose it must be true.
ReplyDeleteExcept most villages don't actually have a supermarket, post office, greengrocer or chemist.
The bank will be turned into something completely unnecessary and inappropriate...
kebab shop
betting shop
dog grooming parlour
nail salon
dvd hire shop
glass eye fitter
Suggestions on a virtual postcard please.....

I have NO idea......
As in "Zed was equally baffled by the decision to close the branch..."?
ReplyDeleteAh.... I can see where you're going with that.
ReplyDeleteNice one.
